Little Chambray Dress

The weather is still sweltering in the Bay Area, even in San Francisco when I went into Taylor Monroe SF to get my hair done… I am so happy I bought this chambray shirt dress from Forever 21, and it is $32.90!  This is a perfect transitional piece whether you wear it with sandals or ankle booties in warm weather, transitioning to boots, tights, and a fuzzy sweater when the weather cools down.  For this outfit, I paired it with my adorable Splendid booties (that are also on sale at Nordstrom) and my vintage Louis Vuitton bucket bag that was my Mom’s in the 70’s.  It rained last night, so hopefully I can start posting some fall style soon! Happy Saturday, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

XO, Stephanie

Luminous Skin, Bold Lips

I am pretty minimal when it comes to my makeup routine, but the most important piece to me is moisturized, glowing and luminous skin.  I recently changed from Bare Minerals to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, and I absolutely love the natural finish, and the light reflecting particles that do not look glittery and fake.  I also picked up the Hydra Beauty Gel that is light enough on my skin to moisturize, without looking oily.  I top with a bit of bronzer, and I swear by RMS beauty’s Living Luminzer on the apple of my cheeks.  I look like a doll with too much eye makeup, so I usually focus on just mascara on my lashes, and a bold lip.  I swear by Albeit Lipstick, and the Lipstick Queen Chinatown Glossy Pencil.  I also always carry Smith’s Rosebud Salve in my purse because I am addicted to it, and it keeps my matte lips moisturized, not flaky.  I hope you all are having a great week!

Stephanie

Endless Summer

I don’t know about you, but it has been freakishly hot in Oakland, and I have been living in my t-shirt dress from Urban Outfitters, my Chanel espadrilles, and Prada glasses. This is my favorite tee dress, and it is on sale for $29.99!  We went to Lake Anza in Berkeley’s Tilden Park this evening to hop in the lake and cool off with friends, so fun!  I am so ready for fall weather, I just want to wear my flannels, denim, boots etc… so stay tuned for my fall favorites when the weather starts cooling down.

XO,

Stephanie

My Favorite Seasonal Recipes with Williams-Sonoma

I love this time of year!  We are right on the cusp of fall, and there are so many seasonal fruits and veggies that can be incorporated into delicious meals.  Williams Sonoma is a great online resource on which I have found some gorgeous recipes that use fresh ingredients from the farmer’s market.  Here are some of my favorites linked in the recipe title! Enjoy!  #inseasonnow

Date Night

My sweet husband works in Tiburon most days, and he passes by the Melting Pot in Larkspur on his way home.  He always thinks to himself that he wants to take me there, and on Friday he planned a super cute date night for us.  I had always heard about this place, and wanted to try it too.  It is super fun because we shared everything from cheese fondue, to delicious meat & seafood fondue, and the delectable chocolate fondue with fresh fruit to finish our meal. We always love the chance to go out together, and I couldn’t wait to  wear my new Paige denim and Vince shooties, from the Nordstrom anniversary sale (sorry guys, back to full price after the sale).  I kept the rest of the outfit pretty casual with a tee, and statement necklace. Have a great week, a and don’t forget to make time for the one you love!

Stephanie

Pilates Body

Hi guys! Happy Wednesday!  So I recently started going to Pilates classes at Pilates ProWorks, Oakland, and I absolutely love it. I had never done Pilates on the Reformer (only mat) so it was new, but the machine really helps stabilize the body, and you can add springs to make the workout heavier than just your body weight.  I also love how KaRon the instructor stretches us between intervals, so you leave feeling worked out, but stretched out as well.  I put together some of my favorite cute workout gear (that I wear all the time), who says you can’t look cute working out? Have a great week!

Stephanie

Wood Tavern Deliciousness

Hi guys, I know it has been a while since my last post, I’ve been super busy starting my new job, and going to tons of summer weddings!  Roger and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on Monday, so exciting!  We had a perfect romantic dinner at Wood Tavern in the Rockridge district of Oakland to celebrate.  We had the best service, AMAZING food, and even though neither of us told them it was our anniversary, the table next to us told them. Our server surprised us with 2 candles for 2 years together in our delectable dessert.  I definitely want to go back, there was so much on the menu that I need to try.  If you are looking for a great place in Oakland, we highly recommend, just make sure to make a reservation way ahead of time if its a weekend dinner, for a Monday night, I made the reservation the day before and it was fine!  Below are pics and descriptions of our lovely meal…

Russet Potato Gnocchi with Sweet White Corn, Spring Onions, Basil, Aleppo Pepper, Parmesan Cheese, Wild Leek Pistou

Crispy Pork Belly with Whiskey Baked Beans, Grilled Savoy Cabbage, Soft Boiled Quail Egg

Pan Roasted Half Chicken  with Fingerling Potatoes, Grilled Radicchio, Spinach, Garlic Confit, Bread Crumbs, Lemon-Rosemary Jus

( I usually do not order the chicken, but I heard this was so good, and it really was!)

Grilled Rib Eye Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, Morel Mushrooms, Confit Shallots, Whipped Bone Marrow, Veal Demi Glace

Shakshuka, its whats for dinner!

I have been really into cooking and trying new recipes lately, and I made the most amazing, easy Israeli dish called Shakshuka last night for Sunday dinner.  It is a spicy tomato, bell pepper and onion stew  with poached eggs, that you can make in one skillet.  You start out making the stew base with the veggies and garlic, then once it is hot and bubbling, you crack 5-6 eggs evenly over the mixture. Then, cover the pot and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, and the eggs cook over easy on top.  Its delicious with feta cheese and cilantro as a garnish, and warm pita bread on the side.  Here is the recipe I used, enjoy!

Beach Chic

We spent the weekend in La Selva Beach, CA with my parents at their beach house, and this little town is the perfect place to relax and decompress.  When we come down here, we sleep in, go for beach walks, read books, take afternoon naps, cook delicious dinners together and get away from it all.  Roger and I went for a beach walk with our rescue dog Murphy and I wore one of my favorite laid back beach looks.  I am obsessed with Mexican Huichol blouses this summer and this green one (similar) is a fun, bohemian option.  I paired it with my gorgeous (and comfortable) lace shorts from Anthropologie, and my Birkenstocks. I hope you all have a lovely week, and don’t forget to take some time for yourself!

XO

Stephanie
