Lake Lyfe

Hi Guys, I hope you all had a lovely Labor Day weekend.  Roger and I had a gorgeous time at Pinecrest lake with my god-sister, who is really my sister, and amazing friends.  We stayed at a cabin that is nestled in the mountains, so there is NO cell phone service, or internet.  It was really refreshing to unplug, and only use my phone for taking pictures of breathtaking views.  We spent time at the beach paddle boarding, and took a fun and challenging 4 mile hike around the perimeter of the lake on Labor Day.  Below are some photos of this magical place!

Beach Chic

We spent the weekend in La Selva Beach, CA with my parents at their beach house, and this little town is the perfect place to relax and decompress.  When we come down here, we sleep in, go for beach walks, read books, take afternoon naps, cook delicious dinners together and get away from it all.  Roger and I went for a beach walk with our rescue dog Murphy and I wore one of my favorite laid back beach looks.  I am obsessed with Mexican Huichol blouses this summer and this green one (similar) is a fun, bohemian option.  I paired it with my gorgeous (and comfortable) lace shorts from Anthropologie, and my Birkenstocks. I hope you all have a lovely week, and don’t forget to take some time for yourself!

XO

Stephanie

Ranchin It.

This Memorial Day weekend, we got away from it all in Mammoth Lakes, CA with my god sister, (who is basically my other big sister) and some great friends on her family ranch .  We usually go with both sets of parents, but this time, we did a kids weekend.  This place is a slice of heaven on earth.  There is no electricity, only a generator and gas lamps, enabling us to unplug from it all and really enjoy each other’s company.  Everybody contributed to groceries and we watched sunsets with beers, and cooked dinner together every night.  There was some amazing weather that rolled through including thunder, lighting, hail and plenty of sunshine in between.  We brought our dogs and they loved it so much didn’t want to leave!  It was the perfect little vacation before I start my new job at Stitch Fix at the end of this week.  Now its back to reality with a renewed appreciation for the simple things that make me happy.

Brooklyn Vibes.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I have been having a ball in Greenpoint, Brooklyn meeting my 2 week old nephew Wesley for the first time and hanging with my family.  My sister Sara and her husband Steffen moved to Brooklyn way before it blew up with stores and restaurants as people made the mass exodus from Manhattan to the BK.  They have had this amazing warehouse space for years that Steffen gutted and built into an amazing 3 bedroom place, and with his and my sister’s interior design skills, it has turned out organic and beautiful. They are a huge design inspiration to me for our house!  I always love to come for a visit, especially when there is a little baby nugget to hold.  It was also really fun to walk around and photograph Greenpoint streets, the old brick buildings and graffiti are right up my alley.

We stayed at The Box House Hotel which has super cool decor, antique taxi cabs for a car service and full kitchens in the room in case you want to have a relaxing night in the room.  Everything is super walkable, so getting groceries, or picking up takeout is super easy.

Of course I did an impromptu photo shoot (photo cred to my Mom) to show at least one outfit I wore on the trip. The first day was not super cold yet, so I wore my J Crew denim button down, Anthropologie sequin joggers (on sale now!), Charlotte Russe Booties, an Allsaints beanie (similar), Giorgio Armani lipstick and a Celine bag.  It was laid back, but still luxe at the same time.

My three favorite meals were the pastries and coffee at Bakeri, the sage egg panini (and everything else) at Five Leaves and the “Hellboy” pizza from Pauly Gee’s.  All of these places have their own unique vibe and amazing food.  I am such a foodie, so Greenpoint is heaven for me!
